I'd looked at it but not sure how I feel about a 15 year old Sub Legacy engine with a WRX turbo strapped on. 250 claimed HP would be a blast though and the car itself looks decent.

"1991 Subaru legacy E522T JDM 2.2 SOHC Turbo with WRX SXI TD05 turbo with intercooler that has approximately 60k miles 250 HP at 14LBS boost"

A word on 1991 Suby 2.2 engines: Most were, like mine, N/A. They're very good. You all should try one. You could turbo them but it's not recommended.

Some 1990-1994 2.2 Subys came from the factory with a turbo. They made about 160 hp out of the box, and that was pretty good for H.W. Bush/Clinton time. But the tuners quickly discovered something fun: you could increase the boost and get up to 300 hp out of them without doing anything to the bottom end. Hence, this song.

This was possible because the turbo Suby blocks were much stouter than the N/A version. They were built with a closed deck and they came with oil squirters for the piston skirts. That is why those blocks are prized even today by some Suby hot-rodders. They are also quite rare—at least in decent shape.

The Japan-only version of the EJ22T made 250 horses from the factory, as befitting a spec-built rally car. There is now some controversy in Subyland about what (or whether) there really is such a thing as a 2.2 turbo JDM Subaru. But in general, JDM—Japanese Domestic Market—engines are prized on this side of the Pacific also because Japan vehicle regulations all but require cars with more than 50,000 miles to be scrapped.

In other words: they get broken in over there, then shipped here to be well and truly broken.
