Just thought I'd say hello.

New to the forum and new to owning a 356 Speedster replica.

I live in Lees Summit, MO. USA

I purchased a Porsche 356 Speedster wide body replica early in April 2013 from an owner outside of St. Louis, MO.

I've been working on it since, had some issues that made it unsafe to drive.

The kit was a Fiber Fab, wide body. Engine case # AH377918 and Fiber Fab Model FS 1107, Identification # NM 110392 and looks to have been built in 1997. It's Black on Black.

The person I purchased the car from had zero information as to where the car came from, who owned it, anything about what motor is in the car, etc. or was not interested in passing that info. on.

If anyone know anything about this cars history, I'd welcome any information available.

Thanks

WTTM! (MUSBJIM will explain in a later post).

Hey, bring that bad boy over to Peoria during Corn Daze in June. There will be a significant Speedster brain trust in town, so you'l get plenty of help with your car if you need it. In any event, a fun time will be had by all!

Post more pics as you can. Help is plentiful here, and I can attest to the expertise of the enthusiasts on this site. Saved my sorry tail more than once!

Hey Roy, welcome to the madness! (WTTM) as BobG said. I feel your pain because I couldn't get much info on the car I bought, but screw it , you're a long time dead and I've had my car for 6 years and I'm not giving up yet. The wizards on this site will help a lot and they are actually great people. Go to any events you can make and you will not regret it. I believe one of our members is moving into your "show me state" , and I'll bet he'll show you his if you show him yours. (his car, Ruby, of course). Best of luck!

Thanks everyone.

99.99% of what I'd like to know I can tell by looking.

The .01% I do not know is engine related, cam, engine displacement that type thing.

I'm guessing it's not a 1600cc, the reason being.

It has both an engine oil cooler/filter system with thermostat and electric fan and has a transmission cooler running off the dog house fan, mounted behind the fan housing .

It has dual 44 IDF carbs. that are mounted on hand matched manifolds.

It needs lots of work, nothing big just things that were not maintained in the past.

I brought it home on a trailer.

Once I get everything to the way I want it and have nothing else to do, I'll pull the engine and find out for sure.

Until next time.

Hi Roy---welcome aboard!  Congrats on scoring your Speedster---you are smat to post here as there i s a wealth of info available plus a brain trust that is phenomonal.

I will be driving my VIntage Speedster to "Corn Daze" this summer amd will be going through NO plus stopping in St Louis to visit friends.  Maybe we can get together during that trip in St Louis.

To me and many others, the real value of being part of  Speedster ownership is the events and friends you meet at the various gatherings.  ---Hope to meet you in person sometime.
