I happen to love the Super Wide Body 356

I have a picture of Troy Sloan's navy blue with tan interior (license WIDE 356) on my desktop. Beautiful example imo.

There was a super wide with a hard top for sale at a dealer last year that turned out to be a disaster story but would be the ultimate for me; hard top and convertible, depending on the day.

It was silver to me (could well be grey in your eyes).

It was on ebay and the eventual buyer (closed before the auction) had a hard top built for it before shipping back east to him.

If you saw the car, you'd remember the Mendeola True Performance s-2 Front suspension kit and their TrueTrack rear suspension kit as well. The thing looked absolutely killer. Unfortunately, the buyer found all kinds of issues and a little digging revealed that the car had been front-end totaled previously and it was not disclosed by the dealer.

What a nightmare but he got his money back and returned the car.

I know the car he is talking about and it really was a nightmare.  Not sure I believe it, but the last I heard it was back with the dealer in Santa Barbara who bought it back from the poor guy he sold it to and he was going to destroy it.

I saw it at Vintage and you could clearly see the extensive front end repair work that had been done, but it had a beautiful interior and the top looked great.
