Any Intermeccanica Speedsters in the UK?

I am considering an IM Speedster but would like to import it into the UK. I have a few concerns...

- How would I register the car here and what paperwork / taxes are applicable?
- Would it be insurable?
- What would happen if the unthinkable happened, e.g a van rear-ended it at a junction? Are we talking complete new shell from Vancouver? Return of the car to the factory for repair?

If anyone from the UK is reading this forum and has experience of running an IM Speedster (or roadster I guess) I'd love to hear of your experiences.

Sure, I agree - I was just hoping I could find someone in the UK who had done it ... if I know our Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency, it will not be easy and always better to chat to someone who did it already!

In the case of the latter, I was thinking more along the lines of a serious bit of damage (i.e. structural); but then again that event might mean a write-off and a cheque to go and buy another one...
