I just picked up 70 VW Vert to play with over the winter. It has the stock engine/setup. I was wondering if anyone on the board is planning on going for a larger engine this winter & wants to sell their existing one. I'd like to install at least a 1776 with dual carbs. I may just build this one up, but it would be a lot easier to just install one that is already built.

Actually... yes
Where are you located?
I have a Fuel injected engine I was going to put in my tub.
It currently has a 1776 with dual carbs that was refreshed not many miles ago which I will be pulling out.
I'm in upstate NY. I may be interested in your engine. I'm not in any hurry to pull the existing one yet. I will probably start going thru the car late fall. What kinda of money are you looking to get for the 1776
I haven't even thought about it.
You are on the other side of the US though, it may not even be an affordable option once we factor in shipping.
Christian, I once inquired about having a turn key engine shipped from Socal to me on the extreme East coast and the builder quoted me $350, which I did not think was crazy expensive.
I'll keep you in mind once I start messing around with the buggy. Depending on how much you want for the engine, it may not be unreasonable when you add in shipping.
cheapengineshipping.com or engineshipping.com
we can usually ship a motor coast to coast for about $200

Thanks for that, Carey.
Gulley Gulley, where are you located? I'm in the Hudson valley, near New Paltz and Newburgh. Let me know if you need a hand.

DannyP - I have your twin(03 Vintage, 2316 Raby)! Just finishing the gauge wiring & getting ready for my first drive this fall.
I'm just south of Syracuse. May need to pick your brain on few remaining items for the spyder
Gully - that is one bad-ass Spyder! Nice!
Wow! That is, pretty much, Danny's car. And the same engine?? How the hell . . .
Nice, looks good! Mine is only a 2165, so engine not the same at all, except the builder. Pick away....any help I can offer.
I could be interested in the 1776 if no one else wants it. I am in the middle of the country, in Oklahoma. Let me know.
I'm a few months away from needing an engine so if Christian wants to sell it to you, go for it.
I'm for sure yanking it out, just not sure as to when.
So many hobbies, so little time.

Christian, are you still talking about your motor....
Here's my new 3-deuce's
