If you really want to mount it on your dashboard (which looks metal) you could attach a flat thin magnet to the bottom of the fan and there by have the option of moving or removing it whenever you want. As for the cord ,if you decide to keep it in place of course a hole would need to be drilled in the dash, but could be hidden by the fan bottom. Magnets of different types sizes, thicknesses, are on the market almost everywhere. Home Depot for sure!!!    Stu.

Cool item, no doubt, but superfluous in a Speedster!

Ditto on that, Jim. I have never felt the need for a fan to enhance air flow in the Spyder; I get enough of that from my wife (we have to shout at each other most of the time due to the ever-present top-down noise).

Thanks for the ideas guys. I'm in the UK so do actually drive with the top up quite a lot. No leaks either from the floor or roof, it's pretty well sealed (have heated screen too - California guys wont understand the need) It's a pan based car made by Chesil. I like having some air movement when the tops up, otherwise stale air...oh, have wind up windows too. I like the idea about a magnet. The dash is glass but maybe a magnet behind it would work ?? There is a small rectangular sucker below the fan base but only for location, it wont be strong enough to hold it horizontal. I'll look into the suggestions....thanks again guys.
