There were 4 according to the website (2 on Thurs, 2 on Sun). The only one I caught was the white one on Sunday (not the V8). It had a 1915cc engine and I think it went for $50k (not to many details after that other than it was "period correct"). There was a red flared fender a few cars behind it, but I didn't catch it because I was watching the game with some friends.

at $50K I could actually break-even on Whitecloud! hmmm....?
Curious if anyone knows if the white one that went for $50k was simply a Vintage Speedster build.....sure looks like it.

Don’t ever add up receipts. It’s far too painful.

Is the white one a Vintage? Not surprised that it went for more than the odd-ball V8, or the red wide-body which is an acquired taste. But having a VS (if it is) go for $55,000 is (pleasantly) shocking.
Looks like a VS to me...
As a VS owner, I'm happy, perplexed, distraught and amazed by the VS's selling price. I love my vintage speedster, but am fully aware of what it is: an entry level 356 replica. I understand it's easy to get caught up at auctions. What I fear is that the new owner will simply lash out at VS when they have some teething issues (at best); given the level of expectation a $55,000.00 speedster should bring.

Based on the pictures and description of that VS alone, the buyer failed to do more than one minute of due diligence beforehand.
People with to much money and to little brains make stupid emotional purchases.
You can have my 2002 VS for $45,000, today.
The V8 is strange. How do you see out of that thing? But I was really surprised at the $55k. That was the only one I saw live. I was hoping of more of a detailed description, but all that they really said was it was true to the period (pretty much what the description says on the website).
Someone got caught up in the frenzy of bidding for sure. I'm surprised they even auction off replicas. The gauges don't even match in red one.

too late, already did, and realized I could've had a P-car for what I've got in this clown-mobile...
Same here, but I decided I really didn't want a P-car.
I was at Barrett Jackson and the white one that sold Sunday was a new VS. It was represented the same way the silver one in Vegas was, same type of sign and graphics. I believe that someone is buying new VS and taking them to the auction. The Vegas car brought similar dollars. The other Speedsters were not very good quality. I looked at the red one that sold on Thursday pretty close and the gaps were way off all the way around the car and the overall build didn't seem very good (doors didn't close well). It was supposed to be a Thunder Ranch car.
The V8 car was a joke.

I believe It's the Park Place Ltd gang ( in Bellevue, WA) that's buying the VS new and taking them to auction. P won't let them sell replicas out of their showroom since 2016..which they had successfully been doing since 2010... but..., they seem to continue having a few built every winter ( saw a truck with 3 being offloaded last May) , do a bit of shakeup work/ clean up the paint/ & minor upgrades/badging and then sell them at local cars and coffee and club events... with a decent markup, and if they don't succeed after the spring/summer months they take them to Auction, along with some of their other cars...
