This looks like a great price to me. I am not in the market but would look into it if I were. Anyone know if this is a SOC member selling this?

Must be in Texas with those cow pusher nerf bars.
Same seller has a nice looking 1971 Volvo P1800 for $14,500.
Cut the nerf bars down top (just a little) and bottom (a lot), pull them in closer to the body and re-clock them so they follow the body lines and they'll look pretty cool in a retro sort of way...
It is an easy remedy to replace the nerf bars with stock appearing fiberglass bumpers.
Looks decent to me, too!
After many years of hanging out on the Carlisle show field I've grown accustomed to seeing those big diameter Nerf bars on Speedsters but never a set that's sticking out that far.
Ideally, they should be far enough forward to clear anything else sticking out on the front end, like driving/fog lights, by an inch or so. If that is the test, then Pearl fails by an inch or two:
Mine are really delicate-looking compared to a lot of them I've seen (mine are 7/8" diameter), but the set I received from CMC as part of the kit (which looked a bit like those on the black car) were considered "Too Big and Clunky" by my Hot rod friends, so Hot Rod Charlie whipped up a set for me out of bar stock he had kicking around, and I had them chromed locally. After 20 years of being on there I see zero rust or anything.

Nerf bars aside, that's a good looking package for a realistic price (rare these days)
Drive that for a year and swap out the 1600 and you've had a good entry into the madness.
Most people want their nerf bars in the same county as the car. It's in the eye of the beholder, but IMHO those need to be closer to the body of the car and the bars shortened considerably.
Google some pictures and see what you think.
The price sounds good, but a PPI will tell you.
Yes, I think it is a good deal, but the steering wheel and column look very used and tired though easily replaced for some $'s....would have to look under the covers and see what else is lurking around.....plus the nerfs look weird as stated in some of the other comments.....Good Luck!
With the nerf bars, the whole package looks like someone got a little happy with the botox and silicone.

Like Gordon's in his post above! I knew there was a set here that I really liked. These also look the part-

Had agreed on a deal with this guy..... even paypal him a good faith sum of cash then he told me the car was in FL not Illinois. I told him that was even better because that's where I was and let's make arrangements so that I could come see the car. Then he went ghost for days. I tried calling, texting, emailing and no answer!! I thought I was out my downpayment. About 4 days later he refunded my PayPal without as much as an explanation ...... oh well.
Glad you got your money back....very strange!
thats just about as close to a scam as U can get...once they have ur $ UR at their mercy..
Yep so I'm back on the market prowling for something with good bones and not at a cough up a lung price
The nerf bars in the picture come from Empi and are pre drilled with mounting holes. The car owner just bolted them up without modifying them in any way. The normal way is to drill new mounting holes in the correct place, so they are much closer to the body and cut about 5 or 6 inches off the bottom of the vertical bars. Don't cut anything off the top.

Never ever and I mean never ever ever send money via "Friends and Family" with PayPal unless you 100% know the person. If you don't know them send money via the other method which I think is called "Goods and Services". The seller pays a fee but that's the cost of doing business. Of you pay with F&F you can't get your money back if it's a scam. If you pay the other way PayPal will guarantee the transaction, IIRC.
