Hello All, I was wondering if anyone ordered a replacement top and or boot for their Convertible D? Apparently my car is an older IM Roadster and the nice Folks at IM put me in touch with their top contact in California (Autos International.) Before I pulled the trigger and spent the coin there, I was wondering if the direct replacement 356 Vert D items would work. I spoke with Jim over at Klasse 356 and he said it was a maybe / maybe not scenario. The 356 stuff is available a lot faster being that I can get it on the east coast and slightly cheaper too, which is always a plus!!!!

Additional info, I am not looking to do this myself, I will have a canvas shop put it together so the top and the boot will be in skilled ands but, I am gunning to give them a good head start.

Thanks
Chris

Gday Chris. A few years ago I thought I stumbled on this super deal on Ebay from a seller in Atlanta. I think it was Auto Atlanta. Anyway they listed convertible top for 356. I won.... well, it was for a D and not a Speedster. It is in an old Porsche original box, tan in color and brand spanking new. I told them they weren't too clear and wanted to send it back and they said tough titties basically. So it sits here.

It has never been assembled so the back window and stitching has never been assembled although all parts are there. I guess this is the way they came.

Interested?

Mike, I would love to buy it off of you, but I am really interested in getting a black top. I decided to keep the car black for its new paint job so I think with the black rims and body, a black top will look a little more consistant?

I am curious though when you ordered a Speedster top, did you get a 356 replacement or go with a builder
