once again the state of nebraska is not being very nice about me registering my speedster. I have a florida title, where it was titled as a 69 vw bug, but since its not a bug they will not honor the title.

So i am going to go the route of putting the car together myself.

Luckily i do have receipts and original manuals for the car but i do NOT have the MSO.. Manufactors State of Origin i believe it is called?

Does someone have one of these that I can duplicate / scan to make my own, then i will send it back?

What a pain in the rear END.

The CMC Certificate of Origin that I have looks just like a Florida Vehicle Title. I can scan it and send ya jpg img. It has the number on it that matches the CMC id plate plus (I think) a certificate number. My guess is that when your vehicle was registered in FL - their DMV kept the Certificate of Origin and just issue a new title (or are you saying the entire vehicle was never registered in FL and you just have title for the donor chassis?)
Interesting.

If you could send me a copy of it so i can look at it that would be cool. The law is so shady on speedsters, they want a MSO.. but i never thought about like you mentioned that it was probably surrendered when it was originally licenced in NY. Then he moved to florida and had it inspected and titled there.

My wonderful state of nebraska wants a MSO if i built the kit.. But since CMC is no longer in business and they previous owner doesnt even have the MSO then im not sure what i am suppose to do about it?

How do you have yours still? You didnt have to surrender yours?

thanks...

what a pain.
You also might try to get a Bill of Sale from previous owner and see if they will accept that. My guess is the BoS should say what the donor vehicle is as well as what the kit manf body is - plus seller/you, what you paid, mileage, and date of sale. With my CMC kit, I got both the COO and a BoS from CMC.

I haven't registered mine yet -- since in VA you have to pay personal property tax on assessed value every year --- plus up til 07 you had to also buy a county sticker ($25) so you could then be in the computer to pay the tax! So I still have all the paperwork.
