That's actually a schematic of a swing-axle (pre-'69) rear end. '69 and up had IRS which has the cv joint axles and a different suspension setup.. This is true for vehicles imported to the US and Canada anyway, Mexican and Brazillian bugs kept the swingaxle longer.
