I'm looking for a place to try/buy steering wheels in the bay area. Sacramento would be closer.
Thanks!

Go to BugOrama in Sacramento on Sunday, Sept 1
Usually a few vendors will have them or perhaps at the swap meet.
You can pick up a used Nardi on EBay for under $200.00.
You can give BugFormance a call. They're in Sacto as well.
Awesome, thanks! Yeah, I'm headed out to BugORama. I've stopped my purchasing until after I do that. Afterwards, I'll try BugFormance and then finally do the Ebay thing.
Quick question - What do you feel is the right size for a wooden steering wheel? 14" / 15". (On a speedster)
14-15"
Anything smaller is rice-rocket range.
BTW, come up to Auburn on Saturday, Sept. 7 for Tour d'Hoe.
Check it out in the Events section.
Remember you'll need the hub too.
Terry,
I have a 13" wheel that came with; and I don't like it one bit. Auburn is about 1.5 hours north from here, I'll ask my wife if she's interested in a day trip up and back at the least. Thanks for the invite!
Ron,
I'm hoping to keep everything as I have it and do a simple swap of the wheel itself. High hopes, I'm sure, ...
I was up in Tahoe last weekend.
Although there was some smoke, I didn't feel it was enough to cancel the drive.
You can bring a dust mask if you're worried.
A factory one was even bigger than 15 . If your not suffering from Dunlap that's a better size
14-15"
Anything smaller is rice-rocket range.
Smaller ones build arm and shoulder muscles - but tend to obscure the gauges (except maybe the tach)
That's why I've gained an inch on my biceps since I bought the car!
I have two issues with the 13" --
(1) Its looks. The wood looks legit.
(2) It blocks my gauges.
I'm going to go with a minimum of 14.5" --- I'll shoot for the 15", but am not hopeful I'll find one for a reasonable price.
Regarding Tahoe - I'm not worried, I thought I'd mention it.
Sounds good. My wife's interested. I'll look into the details.
Got the 3 spoke banjo that I think is made by Mooneyes. Nice quality but I don't have a car to drive with it. Anyone want to buy an unfinished Fiberfab 356?
Actually it's a Flat 4.
So...are you selling the steering wheel separate from the car? How much?
No, I'm not selling the wheel. You can get it a few different places. I want it put it on a Beck if I can get one or on my old beetle.
I'm considering selling my FiberFab as I'd like to be on the road.
Jeff
Helluva deal!
Looks like a perfect size. Can't tell what wood it is made of - maple?
Bought an FIV Steering wheel at the BUG O RAMA swap meet today! Don't know anything about it, or if I got a good deal.
HUB + WHEEL - 15" FIV ITALIAN.
Wood has all of the varnish removed, so it's ready for staining - Unless they came that way, ...
Michael Jackson in the background?
Jeff
It's my garage / pub - - We host parties like, Halloween, New Year's, etc, ...
One New Year's we have an 80's themed party, and so we decorated with 80's posters; Michael Jackson being one of them. This poster stayed up because of a couple jack asses slash neighbors signed it.
Here's a picture of "PUB NOSTALGIA" (The street we're on)
What NO Janis Joplin Porsche Poster?
I just googled these!
The one of her sitting on the car is going up tomorrow!
