No George, not a lock out reverse. It's a lock-it-in reverse shifter.
Actually, VW had it as an option on their convertibles. You put the shifter into reverse and lock it in place. Take the key with you. I'm paranoid, but I DO live close to the community (Surrey, B.C.) which has the most car thefts (per capita) than anywhere else in North America. I've got an alarm, a fuel cut-off and 'The Club', but more can't hurt, around here!

IM's come with a keyed Hella 12V interrupt switch installed in the large 12V+ cable to the starter. Turn off, remove key, and it would be very difficult to hot wire, especiailly with a locking rear deck lid. If they really, Really, REALLY want your car they can always tow or flat-bed it away...
So, I ordered the Gene Berg shifter with the locking reverse package. I order the rapid travel sedan shifter (9 1/2 inch model). I can't wait to get this baby hooked up. Instead of having "Gene Berg" on the handle, I paid $20.00 more for "Porsche" instead. It was that, or "Speedster" or "356". If you think this shifter is pricey in US funds you should see what it cost in Canadian funds!!! Actually, I don't know what it will cost, in total, in Canadian funds...better not to look until I get my mastercard bill.
