The car I am going to buy (if I beat this f****g cancer) is an Apal built on a custom space frame chassis, not a shortened floorpan from a dead beetle. I thought all Apals were like this, as they licenced the whole package from IM many years ago.
I now find that some Apal bodied cars, in the UK at least, are beetle floorpan based.
So, I'm a bit confused. Can anyone enlighten me?

The one I'm buying may be one of the last ones sold in the UK, and it's definitely not a beetle floorpan. I can only find one in the UK that is. Maybe they sold you a chassis if you needed one, but otherwise you could murder a beetle and cut up the corpse?
Nice chassis, Looks very custom-made, Jem. I'd not mess around and buy it if all else looks good.
I'm definitely going to buy it, just waiting for it to be 'finished' to the agreed point, and then a good window in my cancer treatment, as I think I'm heading for major surgery so may be off the road myself for several weeks or even months. Hope I'll be fit enough to get in and out of it when I get it!
