I think Vince & Gerd bought out the entire inventory of FBG!

"It could be the Ford itself. I'm just sayin' ... "
Cory was right. it WAS the Ford. I've been trying to figure out the fart smell for over a month, but this past week it's just gotten SO much worse that I took all day today off and tried to search out an answer.
I checked the various forums and even phoned the service department where my Father bought the car. The smell, as it turns out, was due to around five gallons of fetid water and decomposing organics trapped in the cold air plenum between the firewall and under dash interior.
I guess that these cars are made to be garaged because the plenum drains were clogged with stuff that fell from the trees all Summer, LOTS of that leaf eating beetle crap and everything else all mixed up in a stinky gray water soup. Now way to avoid this if it's parked outside in New England.
Here's a pic or two of where the elusive mouse-proof flow through drain plugs are located and what they look like removed.

So, I drained and flushed out the plenums, replaced the plugs, and poured in some vinegar just in case and now the air conditioner (and interior) smells like a quality Italian salad bar . . . much better than the German Fetish Bar that it did this morning.
Whew . . . it'll be a pleasure to have an air conditioner again and not having to drive with the wind blowing my hair all over the place. If anyone has an '08 Mustang that smells like my Father's A$$ inside, these little clogged drain plugs are probably the cause.

Dear God, TC. That was funnier than the original post!
Glad you got that cleared up, though. Those German flophouses smell TERRIBLE.
Imagine their gutters!

I don't think that I would have though of checking the car itself if you hadn't mentioned it. The smell really seemed to be in the upholstery, you know?
...hmmm, I'd better check my sofa to see if it has some of those plenums and flow-through plugs! That might explain those localized cloud formations and unexplained pet deaths in my living room.

Hey guys,
Wanted to update you. He has relisted the car on ebay. His bottom line is $80k...or there abouts.
If you are looking for the ultimate IM 356...that is it, no doubt. Larry is a neat dude..lots of other toys.
Anyway, doing my part to help out a good guy.
We are taking ourselves out of the market. Going to keep a distant eye on whatever pops up. I suspect this winter will produce a few viable prospects.
peace.

I might make a bid as soon as this Nigerian Bank deal goes through. Don't pass it around but it seems someone died over there and has left me a load of dough. I'll soon be in high cotton....

Hey, I had someone recently die over there too, and I'm also getting a sh*tload of money (I only have to send them some money for bank documentation). Small world. :-)
OMG, Could we be somehow related?

Wait!!! I just got word that a long lost Uncle in Kazkacistan left me ovr 3.5 bazillion drocmas, which when converted to USD is nearly $1.95. I only need to cover the conversion and transfer costs to my bank. Man if this keeps going on I'll be able to get that car sooner than I thought.
