The chassis work is complete. The only major welding that remains will be the deck support hinge for the back half of the body, wiring brackets and small stuff to support the fuel and brake lines.
I need to drill about 350 holes for rivets, and then the old girl will be off for a sand-blasting and a powdercoat appointment.
As it stands right now, I will be driving this rigid beast to Carlisle under its own power.
Of interest, my DTM shroud (Stage III kit) arrived last week from Georgia and my engine will be cracked open and gone over in coming days.
I have a feeling that the significant visual progress of the last two weeks will be the last major advances I'll be able to see from 20 feet until the rear deck is actually mounted, what with wiring and plumbing intentionally hidden inside the chassis.
There are 12 new photos in the hopper as of today. Please have a look and give me some feedback.

Thanks, guys!
Any bona-fide member of the SOC who wants to take 'er for a spin at Carlisle will be able to. I'll happily share my toy; all I ask is for equal stick time in other Speedsters.
Y'all's encouragement has helped keep me on target.
Here are some more of the build photos, a little less current than those above, but details have made and broken this effort as we've put them into the design.
Are either of you guys planning on putting up any photos anytime soon?

Sweet. Done deal.
That rack was the first one I ordered, but it won't be up to the task. It was there primarily as a dummy so we could mock, tack and weld the tank bracket for the fuel cell.
I'm spending an extra hundred bucks and going with a sturdier, larger model that should hold up better. (I've already traded that rack away for tubing and such.)
The new one is intended for off-road use and will probably answer the mail better. I'm going to commute through DC with the car when it's done, so I need the steering box to be tough.
Thanks, Michael. It's true, though. I've been so inspired by the Carlisle show and the fact that there will be so many of you guys there that I've pretty well married myself to this crate to get it finished. The least I can do is turn that around for everyone concerned.
Lane, think "Batmobile."
