Oh that ole' thing...

There were so many cars, I didn't know what to photograph!? I saw at least one other SOC members car there. He hid from me, but I saw his co-pilot.

I broke the number one rule, and adjusted my clutch this morning (at 6am). I tightened it too much and found that it was slipping under hard acceleration. Found that out while leaving the event today.   clutch slipped a bit on exit...

Leaving is always a spectators event, so imagine my embassment when I went to grab second and the RPMs betrayed me.

115 miles round trip. Up and over Hecker Pass and that's the ONLY time the clutch slipped.

Oh well.

Share your stuff guys,
Ted

Ted,

Thanks for the great pics.  We had planned on attending, the C& C in Scotts Valley.  But had "appointments" with both ATT and Comcast. Only 10 minutes from our cabin in Felton. But there are more until October:

Our

Canepa Cars & Coffee

Looking for an excuse to hit the road? Starting April 11th, Canepa will open its doors (and parking lot) for a coffee-fueled celebration of all things automotive. Roll out your pride and joy and join your fellow lead foots for an amazing morning of classics, exotics, race cars, hot rods, and motorcycles. Canepa Cars & Coffee will take place from 8am-12pm on the second Saturday of the month through October. The perfect event for clubs, aficionados, and car crazies of all ages!

Thanks again for the nice shoots! Maybe next time!

Ted

I'm really sorry I didn't get to meet you. When you stopped by my car I was drooling over the toys in the workshop! i have a real weakness for Porsche 959's so Canepa is an ideal place for me. I checked out your speedster which looked fantastic and I hope we'll get a second chance to meet at the west coast cruise! Best Chris

No pictures but a terrific welcome.

I went to a British Car Fest at the Jersey Shore this afternoon. As I started to park in the street next to their viewing lot the show director came over to me and moved the wooden horses and asked me to pull in and join there cars on display. Great guys lots of Q and A, made me feel welcomed. My first encounter and a great time.

No photos, but went to our first Sat 'cars 'n coffee' here. Caught a ration from some of the guys I know about the Speedster...hey this is American Muscle country...fools just do not know how much fun this little car is to drive.

BTW, That #2 Gulf Porsche 917 is owned, or used to be owned??? by a friend of mine, Johan Vanderveke. Saw him run it a couple times in vintage races in Sebring, Vegas and Infineion several years ago. Awesome car! He also owns the #6 Gulf GT-40...got to drive that thing once in Vegas...scared s#i+less... driving a car on a race track worth more than 1.5M...don't think I ever got it over 80mph...LOL

Here's something you may have never seen, Gordon...a Little Red Wagon with a turbo charged Briggs-Stratton kart engine w/ nitro boost. My buddy Don built this thing several years ago...and damn is it fast, it will wheel stand coming off the line, thus the wheelie bars out back and the drag chute need to slow it down. It has kart steering and 4 wheel disc brakes. Don ran it once at Bandimere Drag Strip, he hit 95mph in the quarter...track officials banned him from ever running it again there...LOL

Don built the trailer it sits on and he hauls it with his "A" 5-window coupe.

There is absolutely NO doubt, that if I ever built one of those it would certainly end up killing me.

Not because it might be "too much wagon", but because I would HAVE to find out if it was enough.

95 in the quarter?  Well, maybe with a little more boost it might hit 100..........

I wonder what I could do with a Yamaha 125 engine in a La-Z-Boy recliner??

Lane, your are right BOTH...known Don for almost 40 years and we are both surprised he is still up and kicking...LOL...actually after his Bandimere run he no longer hi-balls the wagon, the NOS bottle is empty and just for show. Must say on that Bandimere run he was quite a sight in his helmet and racing suit scootin' down the track...a sight to see to believe.
