On the back horizontal frame near the nose cone is a stamped VIN.
(Vehicle Identification Number) Look on your registration and you'll find the number, they should be something like 550000xxx the x's will be numbers.. Those last three numbers are sequential and denote the production run of the car.
I have an early Beck. It has a number plate (about 3" x4") in the front trunk. It has a nice drawing of a 550 spyder then a "Beck Development, Upland Californial" logo. It is stamped with a serial number on the tag 0062B. Another member on this site has an early gel-coated Beck (now repained silver, NICE CAR!) that has a number plate with 17. (Chuck Beck told him it is probably #11). The new BeckMotorsports does not have records of the older cars built by Chuck and Randy in the Upland facility.
Mine is a 1996 Beck No. 250. It appears they are not sequentially numbered unless they built a tremendous number of them between about 1998 and 2001. When Chuck Beck had his facility near my home, there would be around 8 to 10 at a time being assembled on a 90 day cycle.

One could pre-suppose that the output was approximately 30 to 40 per year, which would probably vary from year to year as he transitioned from kit to complete units and, of course, shifts in market demand.

Someone else on this list may have more accurate information regarding the production rates. Randy??
Hey Vicki:

I'm #815. I wonder who was in between us. Who was this stranger???!!

It has been a while since I have chatted on the board, but I have been reading all the post. What a great board of people we have. I participate on a lot of boards, and this one is far the best. I wish we all could meet up one day. East coast west coast! Got to love the internet

Take it Easy everyone,

Tony
Vicki, I've been to Beck's assembly warehouse in CA. When the cars arrive from Brazil, they are painted different colors with different interior trim. Your exterior and interior color scheme is the determining factor. For instance, your car with vin# 813 had the particular color scheme you choose, car 814 didn't meet Tony's needs but #815 did.

Or, Us folks in CA would like to think that Beck reserves ONLY EVEN numbered cars for us and ODD cars for those of you that live east of the CA state line. (OK, OK, just joking)
Hey Vicki:

I've been working 11 hour days and freezing my buns off in good old Michigan. Its been single digits to zero all month. I have been staring and sitting in my Spyder all the time. I have also been dealing with a little issue with my 2004 VW Touareg. My back hatch keeps coming unlocked for no reason. A computer clitch type deal thta has had me at the dealer a few times this month.

How about you? How has your Spdyer been working out for you? Did you get your valves adjusted and an oil change after the break in period? I'm sure she is broken in by now.

I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL SPRING!!!! THIS WEATHER HAS BEEN UNBELIEVEABLE!

Anyone on the board... WHO IS GOING TO WIN THE SUPER BOWEL???

Take a drive for me today if possible in Tennessee,

Tony
As a nurse for 30 plus years, I have all kinds of stories about who could win the Super Bowel! You know you'll get a lot of "cracks" about that typo, don't you? ha

Yes, in fact, I got the valves adjusted and an oil change at about 300 miles, and it's about time to do it again. I rack up miles faster than most since it's my daily driver. However, I drive only 2 miles to Vanderbilt to work, so that's not too bad. And haven't done a road trip in her yet. But I'm ready!!!

I am at work again today trying to catch up. It's cold but the sun is out and that helps. Yesterday was almost warm enough (around 40ish) to have the top off, but not quite.

I'm glad you are back on forum and hope to hear from you more often. I would say don't work so hard, but I'll hold off until I can follow my own advice.

BOWEL BOWL!! See what happen when you type to fast; you can make people laugh. Where's the spell check on this dam board??!!! Anyway, it doesn't matter to me who wins. I'm not a huge sports fan; I'll tune in more for the entertainment side of things.

On a different subject, has anyone purchase the porsche value covers from Dario? They look sweet. Do they fit the 2165cc motor nicely?

Tony
