I just visited Vintage Speedsters yesterday... the cars are beautiful. So, I sat in my first speedster and immediately noticed that the steering wheel and pedals are all off-set to the right of the driver by a couple inches. Is this normal? I suppose I could get used to the steering wheel. Is there any kind of a kit for adjusting where the clutch pedal is located? I just couldn't get used to that. One more thing, is there any kit for shortening the linkage in the shifter...it's far too long a distance between gears.

Andrew,
Welcome to this site. FTI...Vintage Speedsters are built on a shortened VW pan. Other Speedster builders use a full tubular frame which offers more foot room, and the off-set is not as great.Click on the Makers tab on this site for other details.
Empi makes a quick shifter (with a trigger pull lock out for reverse). The distance bewtween gears are shortened considerably.
