As some of you know I purchased the www.jamesdeanspyder.com 550.
As I look at the photos of other Vintage replica's it seems to me that there are different size rear hoods.

IE: On my car the back end seems to be much higher and the 'humps' seem to be longer than most.

Can anyone tell if my rear hood is longer and higher off the ground than most Spyder's?

Yes, there are. I've been told that the original Beck body panel molds were lifted off of a Porsche 550 spyder and the only "major" change was that the doors were made a bit longer to make it easier to get in and out of the car. Some of the 550 Spyder replicas I've seen have a longer rear body section that makes them unattractive (to me, anyway).
