Are you staying at the Marriott?

Just got off the phone with the Courtyard at Marriott. Jordan took my phone reservation and he was very helpful 714.670.6600.

I asked if there were many people slated to stay the weekend of the show (April 24,25) He said there were two besides me. Wait, only two others.

If you have made a reservation with the Marriott in Buena Park, make sure you specify SpeedsterOwners Group to get the $69 rate. Rooms are still available but as the show grows near the rooms will disappear.

If you specify SpeedsterOwners, they will also group us in the hotel more so our rooms are close to one another,...that may or may not be a good idea.

There is at least one other group staying there according to the Marriott and Dale B says a Cobra (ouch!) group and Factory Five.

I know there has been verbal confirmation on this forum, but you may want to check with the hotel and be sure. Let me know if I am on course here.

I've got to believe there are more than two, we've got 15 rooms set aside and if we don't get at least 12, then I eat the differance, ouch! I know I've got a room and I think Jim Ward, Dale Bates and sure a few more. By all means when you call mention the Speedster owners group to get the $69 rate. Maybe they have placed some of us there but at the $74 dollar rate, we'll straigthen it out when we get there. I also am going to mention that they promised us a hose and buckets for washing out trail dusty steeds. I'm sure the Cobra people are getting one also! Get in line maybe!

Hi Patrick and all who plan on attending!

I'm booked at the special rate from Thursday the 22d, through the night of the 25th, Sunday. They gave me options on King or Doubles (I think they are queens) and of course smoking/non smoking. The reservations person (Hugo) was quick, had the rate for me at the mention of Speedster (didn't even get "owners" out), and had my info in all of maybe 3 minutes. Great service and a killer good rate!

Everyone needs to ensure they have filled out the primary registration for the event and mail in the fee. I believe John & Bruce sent these out, and they are also availble on this site.

I'm doing small stuff now, adding a passenger mirror, making carpet patterns for my big gas tank, new mats, new tires, and yada. Now if I can find that Bra I ordered with the car and never used. I'll find it soon, I hope, Need to fill in some chaff/chips and then I hope the bra semi-protects it during the haul west.

Been doing similar things also. Hopefully have the gas leak fixed on the gas tank. Aired up the tires to hopefully a good balance, and the most important, selected which credit card to use! I think everyone is ready for some fine spring weather, know I am as it has been raining here all day.

I'm guessing the leak is coming from the sending unit? If so, replace the rubber gasket with the cork one, after filing the tank surface flat (cover the hole in the tank). Discard the serrated lock nuts on the screws and put nylon washers between the screws and the sending unit. It'll stop- mine did...

I installed new nylon washers yesterday that John Steele sent me. I found one screw next the the ground screw didn't have any kind of washer, a ha! Think that was the culprit. I'll wait for a nice day and then go down and fill it up again and do some peeping. Driving it down to Knotts I'd like to untilize the larger 13 gallon tank and fill it to the brim. Couldn't do this before. I'll let you know if the fix worked.
