New IM Speedster arrived yesterday; did a cursory checkout and drove it about 60 miles. It was a cool day -around 60 F - so oil temps never got over 100 C.
The car's fit, finish and detailing is up to or beyond IM's usual high standards (Henry seems to have taken a special interest in it), and the 2,387 Pat Downs built for me is very smooth and tractible even in the low end and mid range which is surprising as it's running a 320 degree camshaft.
The 901 5-speed gear ratios appear to be spot-on for the engine, but the trans is new and tight so shifting, even with the gated and short shift kits, is a little slow; should loosen up in the first 500 miles.
The PreLuber is neat - flip the switch, turn on the ignition, and you have oil pressure before startup.
Couldn't be happier with the car...
