I've fought a lean condition for some time now..... I have replaced the entire secondary ignition, rebuilt both carbs , installed jet doctors.... Everything, and still have a problem....

Yesterday I set fuel pressure at 3.6 lbs on the Holley regulator..... Bendix / Borg Warner type thumper pump..... Cranked the car this morning and it seemed to be OK, then it started spitting out the exhaust during acceleration..... Checking the pressure guage, I saw it drop below 2 lb. This indicates to me that the pump is on its last legs, and can't keep the volume up to maintain pressure....

Does anyone confirm this diagnosis??? I'm shopping as this is posted....TIA...Leon C.

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.....

Have a GOOD laugh Nolan..... The new WIX fuel filter installed at the pump under the gas tank has collapsed internally..... A straight dump from the filter gave me the same as at the far end (carbs).... Pulled pump and filter and the tank flows 10 times as much using gravity.... I'll wait for the CB pump and replace the original pump filter unit with those CB supplies....
Damn it, Leon! Do I have to uninstall my 3-lb. Facet and mail it to you? ;)
Seriously -- no problems AT ALL since I installed it six years ago. Off-the-shelf part, new in the box, without a single modification.

Don't make me drive down to Georgia and tow that palmetto-turned-peach to Pennsylvania with the Hoopty. I'll do it, I swear.
