To all my SoCal Speedy friends:
Karen and I are now relocated in Arroyo Grande, just a couple miles from Pismo Beach. When you guys get up this direction on your way to Paso Robles, give me a call and I will meet up with you someplace. Or, as I said in my post of Feb 8, you can stop by the house for that much needed pit stop. Pismo is only about 10 minutes from here. Vince/Jim, are you guys coordinating the drive up to Pismo? Let me know.

Warren, a group of us who will be meeting along the coast will be arriving in Pismo mid afternoon....We will be leaving the Malibu area sometime around 10:00 or so....I believe Theron is having some sort of cruise in the afternoon on Friday, don't know if we will be there in time for that or not, depending on when that starts, Last year we hit Pismo aroud 2:00-2:30 or so and we were hungry.....
I think Pismo is a great stop and those little outside eateries are fun, we can contact you prior to arrival and you can meet up with us but having all of us to your house might be a bit much, we will want FOOD.....

I understand the food thing. Maybe I could go down there early and make some arrangements for food and parking. Let me know how many and when, when the time comes. As far as the Friday afternoon wine thing, we might be a little late for that. Guess we'll have to get right into the hard stuff.

OK, we got about 30+ days till Paso....
Here is the projected route and times for the group leaving Friday morning from Orange County, the South Bay and Valley....

Cars from O.C. meet the cars from South Bay at the Starbucks corner of Artesia Blvd and Hawthorne Blvd (approx 1/2 mile west of 405 on Artesia) 8:00

Leave that location 8:15 head north on Hawthorne Blvd to the 405 N
to the 10 West, which takes us directly onto the PCH in Santa Monica,
we meet the Valley cars at the Motel immediatly past Topanga Canyon Blvd east side of street....I fgure about 9:00....
this is a Kodak moment, hopefully leave the motel 9:30

Leave that location and possibly pick up a car or two at the college
(Pepperdine) along PCH....
We will then Cruise the PCH all the way to Las Pulgas road in Oxnard where we hook up with the 101 north....

This route has been used on numerous occasions by the SOC for Wine runs when heading north...If you have other stops along the way to meet up with us, let us know ASAP, for O.C. cars you will need to get a meeting spot prior to the Starbucks stop so you can be there in a timely fashion....We need to leave the Starbucks no later than 8:30. The Ultimate goal is to be in Pismo for lunch by about 2:00...

This is a preliminary plan and if you have a problem with it speak up, I don't want any whining about it at the last minute and then we need to change everything....I get confused easy....

I have a few cool T-shirts for the Poker run for the guys and a CD for the girls....I am also bringing a very cool Die cast Porsche for the Raffle in Paso...If you have any little things that you think would make a cool give-away for either the poker run or Paso Raffle bring them along....

The projected route and times from Portland and those meeting in Sacramento:

One-way hot lap down I-5 to 41 into Paso. Stops as necessary for gas, pees, triple espressos; 13 hrs 30 mins.

Jimbo, looks like we are going to join up with you folks at the PCH and Topanga Canyon Blvd hotel at 9:00 am. The 8:00 am meeting place would be better for us, but it would be too tight of a time line with getting my boys off to school Friday morning and then getting to Hawthorne and Artesia by 8:00 am, espeacially with the possible traffic... Better to hold off and meet later up the road a tad... Besides prior to departure date I would like to get various cell numbers of folks headed up.... Glad to hear Desi is in, this looks like it is shaping up to be bigger than last years run.....

I am sorry to say that I had to change my plans for attending the Paso Event. Due to events beyond my control, I had to cancel my reservation at the Motel. Now I will only be able to attend the Saturday event and will drive up early in the morning and make the run back in the afternoon. Just can't miss all those nice cars at the show.
