Mike, can you give some details and maybe a photo re: your side curtains for your new JPS with "zip outs". I like that idea. Does the clear plastic portion completely unzip, or partially and fold down?

Haven't seen them yet. I will ask John (Steele) about them this weekend. I believe they zip around the inside perimeter, giving you access at toll boths, drive-thru's, etc.

I'll post you back on Saturday with more details.

Thanks Mike, I'd looked at my son's Jeep - AHA! zippered plastic windows, why not on the Speedster side curtains. At first I thought I wanted sliding windows but the availability of a good working version seems doubtful according to others here.

Yeah, I was unsure which way to go. John mentioned that the roll-ups really didn't protect (in the rain) any better than the curtains, and once he mentioned that he could get zip-outs for the curtains, I opted for a more authentic look with a little added functionality.

I have been looking at the JPS Custom model and would like to know the same thing the others have asked you about the zip outs. Pictures, opinion,etc.

Visited JPS today.

The zip-out in the side curtain will zip up the top half of one side, across the top, and half way down the other side of the clear vinyl, giving you access to 50% of the window opening.

I'll post pictures when they're finished.

Thanks Mike. So it opens enough for some adjustable ventilation and to get your arm out to hand your drivers license out to the officer, but pulling in the super-sized value meal from McBurger might be a little tight, eh? I like the idea, mostly for adjustable ventilation, look forward to the pictures.

Yeah, it would make jumping into the car from a running start a wee bit difficult...a real Kodak moment, though.
