Just wanted to know if you had taken any pictures of the shift lever and brake handle. I would also be interested in the steering wheel/column if still available. Would that be an easy replacement for my car. It's on a 65' pan. Keep me posted. My apologies if this is in the wrong forum. Thanks-Chris

Sorry for the delay Chris, we've been flooded out over the past week with all of this rain and broken dams and what not. I'll get the pics this coming weekend as long as it stays sunny.

The steering wheel and such is a pretty easy install, but it's all 356 and different from the VW pieces that come in the Speedsters. An easy replacement for an early column car, but if you have a car with the later "key in the blinker housing" type set-up, you'll have to re-drill the bottom of the dash to mount the little bracket that supports the column, cut the tube and shaft to fit, move the key switch to the dash (left side like a stock 356) then splice the wires for the directionals, as you would for either type of blinker switch..

If you're handy with this kind of thing, it's fun and easy peasy, a single afternoon's worth of work. If not . . . . I'd rather put it on Ebay than get you in this sort of trouble.

Same goes for the shifter. Easy and fun for a builder, and very satisfying results, MADNESS and FRUSTRATION for a first timer.

Luck! (LOTS if you don't really know what you're doin' . . . )
