Hi Dan,

We do have an Aussie member who is a fairly frequent contributor.  I think his name is Bernie, and he has a real stable of classy rolling stock.  I tried to find his contact info, but had no luck.  I'm sure someone will know his details.  I think he spent some time visiting members in the Southern Cal area this summer.  No worries, he'll pop up and will steer you right.

Hey Jim, I'm based in Melbourne and I have a speedster that was built by autostyling international in Perth. They are no longer around, but due to adrs it really tough to get ones in over from the us.

Kitrig do some amazing space frame ones that are adr compliant, and 'little bastard' motors in Sydney are their partners on these shores, but the are just in the very early stages of development. There is also a guy in Adelaide the does them on a type 3 plate form if your interested (a2hautomotive@optusnet.com.au).

Let me know if there is anything I can help with.

It might be much easier to find an existing car which is tired and rebuild it I suspect. I'm in Sydney and happy to help where I can.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the help! If only the Government could get back to this fast with useful information.

John thanks for the heads up. I was looking at buying a donor Beetle and keeping the car registered as a modified Beetle to try and avoid adr issue with a new build but need to still do a little more homework.

I haven't seen a kit in the flesh yet so would be very keen to have a look if you happen to be attending an show or are just ou for a drive on the north shore i would be keen to catch up.
