'Cuz we know "the father" is George Levin of CMC! Who else had a 160,000 sq Ft Miami HQ and churned out 300 kits (that's what article says but it has to be 3000 - since even now Street Beasts does 40/month or 480/year) and grossed $20M --- back in 1985 no less!

Sorry, Frank Reisner was the first to pull a mold and build a fiberglass replica. He had a partner who sold the molds and business to CMC after a few years building pan based IMs in Santa Ana California during the late 70's.

Was "tongue in cheek" when I posted George Levine as father but he was one who put all the Speedster displays in airports across the nation. Probably the one who planted sub-bliminal seed for many of us to want one. I got burned on my CMC purchase in '89 - so I would not cast vote for him though.

Had friend in college ('70) that bought used Intermeccanica Italia Omega (dark green coupe)--- another Frank Reisner early creation. Georgeous car out of Turino Italy with Ford 289ci w/271hp for $9k new (in '67). Nicer looking than a DeTomaso. I'd love to see Henry present slide show of his old family pictures related to cars!

I realy enjoyed those CMC airport displays. Gave me something to look forward to when traveling, back in the day. Never really minded having a little layover if they were present. Maybe that's where I first got interested? But Knott's was the clincher.
