It may be ok But my measurements have me concerned.

I just finished up making the extra long dip stick tube for my beetle conversion .
In my Speedster D I have plenty of room for everything Of a turbo nature. The dipstick was mounted a differnt manner an clears fine,
In the beetle the driver side throttle body may hit the tranny dipstick tube. It will be very close and im concerned.
I have designed the converion to have a U notch in the tin behind the fanshroud out board of the oil cooler exhaust snout so if the engine is to be pulled it dose not have be touched. during a engine removeal or reinstall.
I did it this way so as not to alter the beetle cab in any way.

Here is my main question ..Does CB-Performance offer a center mount throttle body for the turbo injection ? It sure would make me more at ease If I could just do it that way more like a stock set up.

Barry, visit shoptalkforums fuel injection forum. You can mock up anything you want. Leave the injectors where they are and use a single throttle body (the ford's are popular) and adapt the throttle position sensor to it. Look around a bit more--I think you'll be swayed to use
megasquirt.
Thank you Bruce I will check that out

I wanted to have Cb build and tune the turbo set up for this mild 1745 verson of the Hot VW milage motor. They wont make as many mistakes as i would.

I want to explore every aspect of the thing includeing head changes form the mexican fuel injected heads If Needed ,to what ever is required to make it work correctly with a cental plenum and turbo.
There are so many ways they do this. it can get wicked.

But i do like the CB P kits Im thinking , of using the same turbo and exhaust as CB Ps, their fuel rails and stock looking runners But with the central weber type intake, and throttle body.

I could be wrong But the air boxs on the twin throttle bodys look as if one might work and Id only need a short conector pipe.

I hoping Cb already has kit like this made up, Thatt would make it very easy

You don't need the cetral "weber" style for performance. Just some sort of connection/plenum to mount the throttle body to. Depending on how crazy or mild you want to go, you can use the stock fuel injection center and adapt the sensors to fit as done here

seal it up and run tubing/hose to it=zoom.

Barry, look at megasquirt products-see if you are in over your head or not--I doubt it.
The "franklinvwworks" pics are stock fuel injected bug goodies, i have a dirty set that need a home if interested. The megasquirt is a tuneable sys, great price/product. The cb performance system is nothing more than a chevy geo metro system-untuneable. Both systems can use standard cheby pits and pieces=cheap and reliable.
Thats good news I have had good luck and conciderable experience working on the OBD1 type systems. OBD2 Is supose to be better but I have had one to stump me. Only to find out the repairs parts needed would cost more than the car was worth. Thats when I got the beetle and sold my Geo Tracker to paint the speedster D, a move I dont regret.

Street Performance offers a cpu system that is laptop tunable and supose to be easy to Diagnose probems with. and is not supoe to have all the probems of stock OBD2.

I never liked the Trackers 5 speed tranny. and I like the beetles auto stick even less. But the VW/audi fully automatic that I put in the speedster I do like just put it in D and drive. Im pretty sure Cb s 2332 hybrid would set right in the speedster.

The beetle will be a little tougher. I like the mangor racing plenum better its more like I had in mind .
The other stock cis type is to bulky but I did like the pully trigger ignition ,thats more like 88 vette stuff. I also have seen the flywheel trigger ignitions But on the audi automatic flex plate and converter,(TILT). I,d be afraid of harmominc vibrations throwing it off.
