I REALLY appreciate this group and the friendship it engenders. So, when I tell you the head that I should think with is befuddled, well, it is. The other one is just fine, thank you. I was looking at the legends Speedster, yet I don't know if they build it or market it. I have looked at the "Makers" and am I missing something? They (it seems to me) are either a manufacturer, distributor, or reseller. But I can't decern the difference.. Ok could be just the fact I am experiencing "inexperience".

So does this company, produce them, resell them, market for another manufacturer or what?

Help, and thanks in advance.

Do note I am at that stage all of you folks went through,(virginal) trying to absorb and understand the experience and education you went through. Trying to separate the wheat from the chaff so to speak.

It is GOING TO BE FUN, this I know already.

Thanks for any help.

David

David:

They are reselling Speedster manufactured by the company that goes under the name of Vintage. Vintage is the largest producer of the speedsters. The debate of which is the better builder is a much discussed topic. If you check the forum there are at least a dozen different threads that deal with this topic. It gets heated some times. At the end of the day all of the makers have a loyal following, which says a lot about all of them. Beware of different builders as this is where the problems usually start. All the makers are great but some of the builders are not !

American Legends is on ebay all the times reselling the speedsters that they purchase from Vintage. They are a nice bunch of people (I know this first hand). You can go directly to Vintage and purchase the speedster from them and save a few bucks (could be a big amount if you purchase alot of options).

I hope this clears up any confusion you have.

David, you just need to take your time... It took me 16 years to make my decision! Now I don't think you want to wait that long however, just keep asking questions look at all the makers, ask more questions keep reading from this site gather tuns of info and perhaps you will know in a few months who's got the right Speedster for you? There are several good builders here in the southern Cal area. Good luck and "take your time" Buy from the manufacture not a dealer you will save! Or do what I did buy a super clean low millage one owner speedster...
