Kelly, they are of course motorcycle gloves. I usually have a soft, leather pair of Dent's gloves on. However, they only come to my wrists. So in the winter I put gauntlets on. One of these days, I must see if Dents make a gauntlet! These motor-cycle ones are a little stiff. I like driving on clear, crisp Winter days - snow or no snow! A pair of insulated Carharrt's make life ok!

Florida? No gloves needed there! Like So-Cal..........

Regards, Mike

I lived in "Southern" Maryland (Owings/North Beach/Chesapeake Beach)for 18 years and it got fairly cool there in the winter. I got my BMW in 1993 and rode it almost every day to work...........around 18 miles one way. I put over 6000mi that first year.

The coldest day I rode was 18*F. The faring worked well, but the tops of my thighs got numb with the cold. Of course, I was wearing thermal unders with blue jeans over. I also had a full face pull over that extended down the neck tucked in the leather jacket. The hands were perfectly covered by the mirror farings..........but it was still cold that morning. By the afternoon when I got off work, it was a great, clear 50*F. ;-) I rode the back roads all the way to Edgewater and over to Annapolis for a beer at my favorite watering hole.

Take care,

Kelly
hey Kelly,
Sounds like you are another "blue fingers" rider! I rode to work on a motorcycle every day for 32 years. As I got older, the windshields got slightly larger and the sweaters got a little heavier and the gloves got a lot better, but those damn office worker trousers never got any warmer!

For everyone who thinks southern Cal is always bathed in sunshine, I am here to tell you that many freeways run along the bottom of the canyons and in winter, before the sun gets down there the "chill factor" at 70 MPH is easily below freezing. It was a true measure of your enthusiasm for the ride!

I kept reminding folks that those stories about the motorcycle gangs riding along with "200 pounds of hot steel between their legs" was pure B.S. It was more realisticly like a frigid artic wind blowing directly up your crotch!
Giday, Mike. I'm pretty much a computer klutz and I'm hoping I was able to post this lame little youtube video I managed to upload recently. It is a poor production of an Autum tour we took upon getting home with the Speedster. Near Ottawa, Canada in late September, 2010. We had beautiful video of spectacular scenes in Colorado etc. but can't seem to get them up to Youtube. Regards...

Nice driving videos! Thanks for sharing. I LOVE driving my car on windy, scenic roads - through mountains, over moors, along the coast, whatever! I love having the car ON the road. I'm NOT a Car Show type (though it's always interesting to see what other people have done) - I guess that's reflected in the fact that I have a lower standard of finish than you guys. But driving my car, I LOVE that!

Thanks again for sharing. I'm Over-Seas just now and can only pine for getting my Speedster out.

Regards, Mike.
