Auxiliary heater

I have no heater boxes on my Speedster. From my experience in the past VW heaters were iffy at best. So I have had this heater for a few years...I was building a '31 5-window 'A' coupe hi-boy a few years ago and did not want to run a aftermarket A/C/Heater or try to put in a heater assembly from something else...so I bought one these, never installed it because I sold the A before it was totally completed.

This is the heater I have: 20,000 BTU @ 40 amps, hi/med/low fan and heat settings.They work quite well, a friend of mine has one in his '30 A 3-window coupe and I've ridden with him in Dec here in CO, stays nice and warm.

Any thoughts?

Looks like a solid choice. If you're going to run that, you'll need to upgrade your alternator to a 70 or 90A unit. Most aircooled speedsters run the standard 50-55A alternators. Remember the amperage is rated at a specific RPM. In this case, I think it's like 6500-7000rpm.
