Avg. costs of Daily driving a beck spyder 550?

i plan to daily drive it (5-6 miles one way, so 10-12 miles a day) and was wondering what costs i would/should be incurring each year?

Just tires, oil changes, and clutch (i'm easy on the clutch, no popping, and always double clutching).

Dino: I can't imagine you driving a Spyder conservatively. I'm 66 years old but everytime I got in mine I instantly turned 16. I popped the clutch, rev'd up at stop lights and literally got to the speed limit as fast as I could. Once I was challenged by a couple of kids in a Honda which resulted in me winning a speeding ticket. So drop any ideas of being sedate while motoring in your Spyder, there's a racing demon imbedded somewhere near its heart and will take over your soul the minute you hit the starter.

If you are going to drive conservatively WHY do you want a Spyder??

Sedate driving is what my Toyota Prius is for.
Actually Dino, you'll stress your clutch cable more by double clutching than just being careful with a single clutch shift.

Dino--I daily drive mine (it's my only car), so I drive it everywhere, including many trips in the spring and summer, and not quite as many in the winter. The first year was a little expensive for me as I had the usual problems tweaked plus a few other that were unexpected. The biggest expense was the hydraulic clutch, but well worth it. And there was that little accident. . .of course I didn't pay for any of that. As for annual expenses, you should have expenses just like with any other car. Nothing out of the ordinary. Mine is perfect now (I LOVE this car), and I believe driving it every day compels me to maintain things and keeps it running great. v v

As Vicky says above 'WHY'driving a spyder is the most fun you can have with your clothes on! Once you drive one you do not want to get out. I work 4 miles from my home. I frequently travel 25miles home.
Why? Because I can and the Spyder makes me do it!!!!!

I drove my first speedster about 50 miles a week. Oil change and valve adjustment was $100 every 3 months. Tires were cheap crap, so it is going to really depend on what kind of tires you put on. But you should be able to estimate tire mileage and just divide it up. Clutch, I didn't even think about, as long as you aren't dropping it in each gear or letting it slip to hold the car, it will last for thousands of miles.
