Fuel filter leak on hot engine???
Where is the fire suppression system?
Geez, if that's a rear tire peeking through the flaming burnout, those slicks are bigger than my IM!
It's 2000 hp and goes from 0-180mph in 7 seconds. He's a car customizer out of the UK, Wayne Allman. Here's the dragster without all the flames:

OMG -- speechless . . except to say, I bet Henry could do that and make it look like a Speedster.
Holy carp!
I was correct! Those tires are bigger than my IM!
That looks a little dangerous, guys. The driver's way up between the front wheels?
Probably handles pretty good too, being mid-engine . . .
Ed,
We're driving collapsible cars at 80 mph on highways filled with morons.
Allman is driving inside a full cage, with all the exploding stuff behind him, alone in a controlled environment, or, at worst, next to one other equally experienced driver.
Which one sounds more dangerous?
"Collapsible" Mr. Ed, you do have a way with words . . .
I dunno, Paul. 80 mph gives me at least a little time to react to events. This car would appear to be doing about 3x that speed, if not 4x. That kind of velocity tends to render any cage about as "collapsible" as our cars are.
I stand by my statement.
There was a time when I looked at stuff like that and thought, "yeah, BABY!"
Now I look at it and think how much I like having legs. I get that same feeling in my '64 panel. I'm not wild about driving it.
I'm with you, Ed.

I agree. Ed has a wonderful way with words. I will never be able to write as creatively as bro Ed!
That said, "collapsible" was mine.

And I stand by mine.
Crash compilation videos emphasize the wrong side of motorsports. But the video you posted proves my point. The cars broke up and dissipated energy as they are designed to do. But in all ten, the driver cage did NOT collapse.
I still think Allman is better protected in his dragster than we are in our cars. And he's only doing 180 at the top end. Top Fuel and Funny Cars are still hitting 300, even with the shortened track. And drivers walk away.
All that said, I'm with Stan. I'm not jumping in one any time soon!
But enough debate...here's the little VW bus in action. Seeing the crew walking around really highlights how small the d-mn thing is!
I actually like it a lot. Just don't think I want to drive or ride in it.
