Check it out at cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2479597426&category=6428
That seems like a pretty good price for what you are getting, I'm looking at about $30 to build one.

You would have a lot more than 30K in a to duplicate this car. This car is perfect in every way.
I have to admit. I've seen that car in person and it is as perfect as you can get.

That car is nice 26,000 is a great price. Anybody that's looking for a new speedster should look at this one. I just can't figure out why it hasn't sold by now.
according to ebay, the reserve has been met, so it looks like 6 more days and hasta la vista.....
It will be interesting to see what it goes for, because someone could have bought the car off of Samba for $26000, or maybe even a little less.

Interestingly, I just checked Samba and this IM is now a feature ad and the price is $26000.

That is an awesome speedster. Well worth 26K.
But I find it unusual that the reserve is met so early.

All four bids were by the same person.

Ron, isn't that a little weird in itself....bidding against yourself.....I guess I've seen stranger things....

Guys wiull do that when they really want something badly, and think that the frequent bidding will scare others off.

Multiple bids, same guy? Probably fishing for the reserve price.
That IM actually belongs to He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named (No, not Voldemort!)
and the car took first place at the German Auto Fest in Ventura, CA two years ago.
It's a beautiful car. If it goes for $26k, someone gets a major bargain.

It is very common to bid against yourself when your trying to get to the reserve......it is also common to bid to the point where you have the winning bid and then throw in another bid so that if someone trys to sneak in and buy at the last moment by bidding over you they will run out of time trying to find the max bid you placed. This is how I won the bid on my car....the other bidder came in at last minute and tried to bid just over my bid then after another attemp he saw that I had actually placed an automatic bid and he tried again, but he ran out of time on the next attempt and lost due to the end of auction.....this might be the last bid and then again it may not we will have to wait and see.
So, the car went off ebay, but it's still being offered on Samba.
See: www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=74604
Still being offered at $26000.
