I have a custom professionally built sub box from AudioLines in Burnaby B.C. It has 2 8" Rockford Fosgate Subs and is in a ported box. I had a local upholstery shop take it after the stereo shop and had it vinyl wrapped to match the interior of my last IM, and the top grill in a cloth to match the carpet. When the top is up you have to look twice to know what it is...more like 3 times. When the top is down you do not even notice this configuration. It was designed to fit in a 95 IM Roadster and designed to look like a back seat in every way...down to the lined stitching in the face of the box. It matches all the curves tightly of the tub and its height matches the clearance when the top is down. The cloth and vinyl can be changed to match your interiors. One train of thought is this car shouldnt have a stereo at all, my train of thought is to make it as civil and as comfortable as possible. Henry now make a fibreglass sub enclosure in his newer Roadsters. Mine...asking $100 cost to reuild is $500. I will post a pic with it in my last car to show how inconspicuous it is.
