I recently purchased a new crested horn button that I would like to switch out for the standard black one that came with my banjo steering wheel. I've read all of the forums, but some of the advice conflicted. Can I just pop the old one out and push the new one in, or do I have to push from the tiny holes in the back of the wheel? It was a little pricey and I don't want to crack it. Any advice would be helpful!!!

Thanks,
Brian

OK. So far I have inserted the alan wrench (and determined that there are no alan screws), and banged at every one of the holes, but nothing happens. No movement at all. Does the whole plasic piece inluding the chrome bezel pop out? Am I wrong about the alan screws? Am I not pushing hard enough? I am probably being over cautious, but I don't want to break it.

Thanks.
Finally got it. For future reference, here are my notes: The horn assembly just pops in and out - no screws. It won't want to budge, so spray some WD-40 around the edge and keep banging - it will start to move. It is more sturdy than it looks. Once it pops out, it is very easy to replace the button - all the parts are obvious. New button goes in, put the parts back together and pop the unit back in place. Not sure why, but the horn wouldn't work until the unit was back in the wheel. Thanks for the guidance Barry.

If you want to see why the old one did not work Just bend the 3 tab up on the back of it carefully ,,, and check it out Then you can fix it as a spare if you want. But be careful the plastic is brittle.

I had to redo my beetles banjo horn button its a St Christerpher Zodiac

It would stick ON. Oh man.

I finaly put a peace of headliner foam in it to make it behave. But it works perfect now.
