I was looking at auction results on the barrett-jackson website and noticed the price of original speedsters. I thought they would be in the 90's and higher but 40-55k seems to be the norm. I also found it interesting that most of the replica were selling in the 25-35k range. I did find one replica that I would have traded mine for that sold for $7,600. The only speedsters in the 80s/90s were Seinfelds pristine cars. Just thought it was interesting.

Scott, you are right about on the money there.. The main thing you have to remember is the RUST element and to what degree you have been exposed. it's not a matter IF you have been exposed it's a matter to what degree, any OLD car will have and maybe NOT show any rust but it is there.. I promise you that. Any person telling you that there car is rust free 57 you better wake up... That's where you will fine the 40 to 55 marks, and I can promise you one other thing my friend I will not spend that kind of money for a near future rust bucket.. Hence why you see the replica's doing so well at 25 to 35 even as much as 40K. But keep looking I scored mine for a great deal. But I was looking for a good 16 months till I pulled the trigger on a clean VS out of L.A. Take your time grasshopper and search out the best for YOU!

You have a gorgeous car. I already bought a cheapie speedster that has a few things that needs fixing but not too bad. I sold a lamborghini diablo replica project and was able to buy the car, have it shipped, and still have a grand to put into fixing it up. I would have loved to have bought a mint speedster replica but they were a little out of my price range with some other recent purchases I've made.

Hey Lambros!

Doesn't matter if your car is 'mint' or not, it's hard to beat the thrill of driving it. I'm sure when you drive your red Speedy around town, there are still a lot of people who give you the thumbs-up wishing they had a Speedy of their own.

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with having a replica Speedy in 'mint' condition, but I think a car that looks like it's been driven has character. It's kinda like having those 'fancy' towels in the guest bathroom that your wife forbids you to use, so you end up using a 'shop-rag'.

Peace - Out!
