Mike,

Cool picture, the rear configuration looks like big Healey rear end, but you can sure see the P-1800 influence in front. Grill kind of looks like a Buick but no portholes. Always wanted a P-1800 or even more the P-1800ES. Had about 5 Volvo's but couldn't ever convince the wife to get the sporty version. Buddy of mine back east had a 240 seies wagon that after about 300,000 miles on the origional engine, replaced it with a 5.0 Mustang mill. Ultimate sleeper! Guy in Maine named Converse does those conversions.

Robert,

Converse made a version for Paul Newman using a supercharged 351 Ford engine in a brand new Volvo, think it was a 740. Several other celebraties bought them also. The story was on Newmans car was that it was awesome, 400 HP or thereabouts. I think he lives in Greenwich, CT, close to my Hartford, CT friend. Guess one night he was coming back home and some guy sideswipped him and took off Pauls left side mirror but didn't get any closer than that. Story was the other driver was not star struck but demon rum injected. Converse test drove the car on a test loop before delivery and said he had to change his shorts afterward. Newman was very capable of handling all the power, being a race driver. I'd love to have a wolf in sheep's clothing but I have sheep in Wolf's clothing! LOL

Well you all missed it... GREAT MENUDO for lunch... got to say some prayers at the Mission... walked the town... the drive up was absolutely wonderful... nice warm day... lushish green hills... unfortuately NO "hottie" sitting next to me... but it was a beautiful day anyway.

I sure would like to meet you Bay Area folks... (D)erek, nice to meet you...
