Not to be outdone by the (Rain-on of late) SoCal crowd, the Classic Car and Truck Club of Beaufort held it's first "Show-N-Shine" event of 2005 in beautiful weather along the historic town waterfront.
Beaufort is one of the smaller, but deeper-water ports along the Southeastern coast and served as a well-protected, Union hospital area during the Civil war. As such, it was never attacked or destroyed as many other Southern cities and towns were in that era. The waterfront area has been turned into a public park which was host to about 50 cars from the Beaufort club, as well as the Carolina Cruisers Club from Hilton Head Island, and the Street Rod Club of Savannah, Georgia.
Thought you might like to see a couple of the SOC's newest members, Jody Henson, driving his Burgundy JPS, and Peter McEwan with his pretty Blue CMC (with many custom touches). BOTH are comtemplating the trip North to Carlisle in the Spring (maybe my incessant talking about Carlisle influenced them??)
There are a couple more shots in my Photos section (nichols1) which I can't seem to pull up here.
The folks in the Beaufort Classic Car and Truck Club are much like you folks in the SOC - Real nice folks who all have a true interest in their rides.
And what a way to spend a January afternoon!! (especially for a displaced Yankee like me!!!!)
