I saw that link too, so I sent an email to Carey Hines at Beck. The answer is, Beck is not now producing a Coupe, but is giving the project serious thought. I already told him to put me on the list of anxious prospects. It would be a great idea, wouldn't it? Maybe, if this thread can grow long enough with possible buyers, it will help move the project along. It seems the rumor that Beck was doing a Coupe got started because Carey went to Brazil recently to check out the molds for the car. That's where his father's company used to make the Envemo Coupe. My car is an Envemo Cabriolet, made in the mid-80's; but if you do a "google" search of "Envemo" you'll see what their Coupe was like. They occasionally turn up for sale on such a search. As a matter of fact, probably the first site your search will list is a photo of a guy with his Envemo Coupe. The company made many of them in the 80's. Let's see if we can petition Carey to get Beck to pick up where Envemo left off.
Why not splash a one-off fiberglass roof from a stock 356 Coupe and fashion it into a removable hard top for the Speedster.

You would have that cool extended hump back coupe body silhouette but with the chop top look of the Speedster! The best of both worlds. A hammered Coupe with wide fenders and sloped Speedster windshield would really look tough!

Wouldn't take a ton of work, and the results would cause a riot.

I love the coupe shape, and in my climate it would probably be more practical (350 days of sun means you don't necessarily want a convertible).

But I'd love a more modern drivetrain. No stones please but I think a 356 couple body with a rear mounted Honda Civic engine and brakes etc would be brilliant.

Or even a simple Toyota drive train but the Honda is very widely and affordably available. Drop it in the back driving the rear wheels. Use the other drivetrain bits under that luscious coupe body. Would make a wonderful classic daily driver. :)

Thoughts?

Jeff.......intriguing, but cooling it might be an issue unless you were willing to open up a hole in the nose under the bumper.

TE: Someone else on here recently posted a set of instructions for getting into and out of your Speedster. I think if you were to have a chopped hard-top with the existing Speedster windshield height you might have to modify the entry/exit instructions to say: "get down on your knees and crawl in, pivot around to an upright position".

It WOULD have one helluva cool look, though.......but you would need cup holders as you might not want to contort yourself to get out!!
