what does the beck screen actually come from ,is it from the porsche or cut down from a donor screen. The reason I ask is I wondered if its possible to higher the screen by 2" and extend the frame to match .

Check with Carey Hines at Special Edition (Beck). They also offer a Convertible D replica which has a higher windshield.
nothing on there web about them lane
i found one on utube and its a different style screen, was wondering if its possible to keep same style just taller. which is why I wondered if the screens are cut from donor,s
Email Carey at info@beckspeedster.com. He's very good about getting back to folks with parts questions. As for why there's no mention of the Convertible D on the site... well, I think they're a bit behind in their updates.
The wind screen (windshield) is stock Porsche Speedster part #. Like Lane said there are Convertible D models (Roadster too) with the taller windshields. They have different posts and different frames --- plus different taller top bows and a different convertible top. Are you too tall and your eyes meet the frame? The only real option is to lower seat, lower pan and seat or sit in a reclining posture.
If you didn't need a top - suspect you could replace posts, frame and windshield for a taller wind screen.
stock porsche screen, ouch bet there dear then. perhaps cheaper to take some vertibra out the back and make me shorter !!. back to drawing board !
cheers
They aren't that expensive -$250-350 USD. Packing and shipping can easily add $150 state side.
I've seen a Speedster with an MGB frame and windshield. It didn't look that strange.
Phil:
Do contact Carey at Beck Speedsters. I've bought a number of windscreens from him and they've all fit as replacements on CMC, Vintage and Beck cars. They are not OEM or NOS Porsche - they are new reproductions with all of the necessary government indicators on them, but don't know what you need for that in the UK. His last price to me was under $200 USD but I fear that shipping to the UK might be pretty dear. He also has a very durable shipping container for them to insure that they get to where-ever with no damage.
If your height is an issue, then the cabriolet windscreen might be the answer and he might also have a way of getting a slightly taller Speedster top frame (it's just a pressure-bent, aluminum channel, after all) but often the regular speedster upper windscreen frames come a little long on the sides and have to be cut to length - you may luck out.
Good luck.
thanks guys for your thoughts
