That's one of the nicest Becks I have ever seen. Beautiful color, Subie, AC, heat, PW
My bid is in
Is that a Convertible D windshield?
Beck offers a Convertible D, but for some reason this one has the Speedster script. Oh well, whatever the customer wants. Not really feeling the weird bumperettes, myself.

ABSOLUTELY and I wish you luck! If I didn't already have my IM6, I would have contacted the seller already to try to make a deal and pull the auction. You just might be able to pull off a quick desirable deal. That is a fine car....give him a call and CLOSE the deal! It would(likely?) not be for sale if he wasn't looking to move it NOW!
You can tell from the interior shot. That’s definitely a Beck floor.
I did NOT know that BECK produced a "D"? I was aware of the ENVEMO history but a CONVERTIBLE "D" ?
Auction ended already--SOLD!!!!!!!!
I freakin KNEW IT....this car was going to be sold in hours! I hope WNGD scored it but methinx we may find out soon. Somebody gonna be happy!

It seemed to have a lot of non-Beck built features. Thought it might have been a roller and finished by the original owner. I didn’t know Beck built a Conv-D model.
Dear eBay Community Member, |
Sorry to hear that...my guess is that someone likely sent the seller a message that asked about a purchase deal? I myself , have done that before(NOT in this instance!). Or possibly the seller changed his/her mind? My guess is that an aggressive buyer appeared bearing dollarsd.......
Any idea of what it sold for?
Yes it is a Beck. I built it for a lady in Dallas several years ago and they recently moved to their full-time home in Branson and did not have garage space.
The car was color matched to her BMW and the interior was color matched to her boyfriend's Veron (custom made Spinneybeck leather), with orange leather inserts/stitch/piping. All the knobs in the car were hand made in mahogany to match the shifter and the steering wheel was/is a restored original (the wheel alone was $4500 from memory) Everything on the car was made to her spec... custom pedal covers, custom white faced gauges with hand painted numbers (in body color), etc, etc... The bumper guards were a 3D scan of her Tiffany and Co. teardrop earrings, enlarged and CNC'd out of solid billet and then high polished. It was really a fun build... I like oddball custom things like that... Her recollection of her cost into the build is a bit low, or maybe that's what she told her boyfriend. I think she had $10K more into it than she remembers, especially with some of the one-off items added during the build. No idea what it sold for though
Yes, we do convertible D's on occasion. They are a pain in my ass and take a lot more time than a traditional speedster, and I use all original components for top and windshield, so they are costly in comparison.
Carey, y'all did a beautiful job.
I saw that car in person when mine was being built and it is amazing.
Absolutely beautiful car, but I'm not a fan of the "earrings". To me they look like a pair of "hitch balls" cut in half LOL
Exactly what I would expect from you, my friend! That is a really nice ride except for those "attachments" LOL!
Maybe whoever buys it could sell the earrings to the guy with the "Tufted Wonder".
Maybe it would be the final touch that gets it sold BWAAAAHAAAAAHAAAAA!
custom white faced gauges with hand painted numbers
I love that story. The Tiffany bumperettes are just icing.
What complete awesomeness.
It would take very little to butch this car up. I really like it.
Very nice, Carey. I'm not a fan of the bumperettes either, but they might be a little easier to take if they were curved to the body shape (like nerf bars). That said, bumpers would cure the problem. Not changing the bumper mounts was a smart move.

And I agree with Stan. New bumpers and get rid of the white faced gauges (I'm not a fan of them in old VW's or Porsches- it's only my opinion and if you don't agree with me that's your perogative) and that's a pretty cool car. Offhand I don't think there's much else I'd do to it (oh, why did I look again? the whitewalls! I'm not a fan of whitewalls on old Porsches- too American looking. No more looking Al...).
Not really high maintenance, just knew what she wanted... exactly.
That is a pretty slick car for $35,000, though if it were mine, the whitewalls would be the first to go, then the earrings.
Carey, you build plenty of little secrets that we, the general public never get to see.
Rich Drewek posted:When I did my bumperettes, Tiffany had not come to mind. This customer, was she high-maintenance per chance?
Your bumperettes look like they belong on the car, Rich.
@Rich Drewek Thanks. Yeah, i am terrible at posting pics. I have a hard enough time doing my client updates as it is... We've been shipping roughly a car every week to 10 days, and I am lucky to post pictures of one every few months.
Not to worry, Carey, eveyone knows you do a great job on many details and questions.
God knows you try your best.
I’m just saying that we all just don’t get to see of these “special builds” unless it is for a member here on the SOC. Apparently this customer didn’t care to share this car with us. But, she was still wrong on the white walls🤩
And the bumper balls
chines1 posted:@DannyP I did them without modifying anything on the body, knowing that BethAnn was probably the only person in the world who loved the Tiffany and Co bumperettes, so replacement bumpers would be a breeze...
All this time I thought the owner had an agricultural slant, insert vegetable here ........ for those bumpers.
So I am the person that bought the car and to answer the question of Banzai Pipeline, yes I contacted her immediately and negotiated a $2K deposit to hold so I could fly down and look at it. She pulled it and 3 days later I flew into Dallas for the day and bought it. Had it enclosed trailered to Wisconsin and it was delivered yesterday.
As for price, let's just say it was way below what a duplicate would have cost to have Carey build. And yes I will be having Carey putting different bumpers on very soon.
I have always loved the 356 and wanted a daily driver without the huge $$$ for a restored one. Plus it goes well with my 2015 Jag F-Type S V8
Congrats. You got a beautiful car. Hope you enjoy it.

SMART MOVE...ya snooze, ya lose! Enjoy and be SAFE!
Post some picts of your Roadster interior and more picts of the car...Quite nice...
As for the bumper you could paint them to match your other convert
@2 wicked - You're going to love the Beck, including the support you'll get should anything ever go wrong. The hardest part will be choosing between it and that gorgeous Jag. It's a hard life, isn't it?
So all the updates are done on the car. I took it to Kelly Moss Racing http://www.kellymossmotorsports.com here in Madison Wisconsin which did an amazing job. New bumpers, wheels and a few other adjustments. I think it turned out pretty well.
The fist pics are what the car looked like followed by the updates. Time to go out a drive her for the afternoon.
Looks good! What did you put on it for wheels?
