Bet that Speedie doesn't weigh 1800#!  So I could cruise for 30-35 miles to Destin beach early in AM and then set up a vast array of photo-voltaic panels on the sugar white beach, spread on some Banana Boat brand sun tan cream, work on a George Hamilton tan, and after 10 hours head back home (unless a big black cloud comes over).  Wish I had mountains near by -- could drive to top and coast back home.

I haven't seen this one before, but from the stamps on the tag it is a factory built roller.

We've done several electric cars over the years (we built the e-roller and outside shops or individuals did the electrics).  Probably have a dozen or more Speedsters, a small handful of Spyders and one GTS.

Of those cars, the lowest range is 100 miles, the longest range was 150 miles.

That said, they almost all used high end components, which tallied up to $35-40K worth of batteries, controllers, chargers, etc... It just never made a lot of sense to me...

They are pretty strange to drive too.  All you hear is wind noise and tire noise.  They were fun, just took a bit to get used to...

Some of the higher end builds were pretty darn quick though.  Jack Rickard did one with 54  LiFePO4 batteries and it was a low 13s car!
