Hey Jim, I was going to ask you where Apopka was, but after consulting a map I see that it is just north of South Apopka.
10 miles north of Orlando/Disney World. The area was a paradise until Disney moved in with the rest of the theme parks. You can still drive for hours around old oak shaded roads along side beautiful lakes pretty much all year. I lived in Huntington Beach over Jack's surf shop overlooking the pier in the early 70's and spent a lot of time thumbing on the PCH between Huntington Beach and Laguna. Great place but I had to come home.
I can relate to Apopka. I grew up a few miles from Podunk (NY).
