Thanks for all of the compliments. It definitely took me longer to get my car back on the road than I had expected. It went down in November when I lost 3rd gear and barely hit the road again yesterday. Painting the deck lid took less than 2 hours from start to finish because I received it in great condition from Warren. Wetsanding, buffing and polishing took another hour and really wouldn't have been necessary if I could paint like the pros do. Luckily I can wetsand, buff and polish which gives me that show car finish.
I'll get the engine good and warm this afternoon and hit my favorite long hill to get the rings seated. Afterwards (probably tomorrow) I'm planning on hooking up the laptop and hitting a few isolated roads to do some datalogging and tuning. There shouldn't be many if any adjustments that need to be made since the only upgrade I made inside the engine was adding the super squish pistons but since I raised the compression from 8.6 to 9.2:1, I want to make sure that the air fuel ratio and timing are still in check and since I removed the intake and reinstalled it, I'll also need to recalibrate the throttle position sensor. I will most likely let the TunerStudio software do the tuning while I drive and then compare the tune to my most recent one and make any necessary changes.
As the weather is getting nice here, this will become my daily driver until some time in November.
