Or is this the "Yes dear, I'm selling it (wink, wink)." thing?

If you ever think about selling it, can you keep me in mind? Thanks
Will consider reasonable offers.
Planning to re-list on eBay at lower starting bid- no reserve.
I sent you something through ebay messaging, trying to help move your car.
You can take it or leave it, of course.
Thanks for the advice.

Tom---I used to sell pre war banjos on ebay---these sold for $20,000-$35,000. I always put them on with no reserve and the bidding was furious. Something to think about. Call me on the phone and I'll tell you how to not loose if the hight bid goes for less than you like (501/760-2889). I never had to use the "out" as every banjo always sold satisfactorily.
Tom,
What year is the Becks build?
I believe it was 2005. It is not on the data plate. I'm sure it is not before 2005 and not later than 2007. It is titled as a 1957 Chamonix Speedster. Carey or Kevin Hines at Special Edition may be able to confirm the build date.

Tom - Check the chassis number on the plate under the shift coupler access panel and let me know. I can tell you if it's older or newer than mine, at least. Mine was a 2006 build, but the body might have been manufactured in 2005.
Vince - really sorry I did not get to chat with you at Carlisle!
It was a whirlwind trip for me, I basically let folks introduce themselves, if they wished, but I'm sure I only met a small percentage of the East coast bunch...I had a great time.....
I use the SOC for my entertainment, but in reality this group (both East & West) is a great group of people...
History as best I can reconstruct. Car was sold to Beck Dealer in Colorado. They assembled and sold to 1st owner in California in 2005. Owner had some sorting issues and was frustrated by the process to get it registered, which he never did. He pretty much lost interest. It sat I his garage until last summer. I bought it last August with 840 kilometers on the odometer and shipped it straight to Special Edition for a once over to be sure all was as it should be. Carey & the guys gave it a clean bill of health except for Carbs. Rebuild did not satisfactorily solve the problem so New Carbs were installed and problem solved – runs great! I added a number of cosmetic enhancements – Porsche badges, nipple hubcaps, 12v outlets, mesh stone grilles, grab handle, repro marchal lights, LEDs, 3rd brake light, and more. Car is now well sorted and runs great! It is a really nice car and I would not be selling if I were not buying a house and need the cash. I will have another very soon.
Tom
Car is on eBay and strange bidding put the car over the reserve. I was VERY nervous it was a scam. Talked to eBay and was somewhat reassured. Finally spoke to the actual bidder and confirmed it is a real legit bid. He wants the car. Bottom line is it looks like it will sell. I was hoping for more, but it will do. Now hopefully there will be a little flurry of bidding at the end and help fund refurb of my man cave in the new digs.
Merlot Beck is sold and headed to Hawaii.
Tom--congrats on the sale. We hope you will soon be back into a Speedster and stay witrh the SOC group!
Did you put a reserve on the Beck?
