Looks like a nice build.

very nice thanks for posting that ...
That's a pretty cool log and photo journal of his build adventures. Thanks for sharing that link! @Bob: IM S6
Nice color combo too
That is my Beck and over the winter I changed engine cooling/carb linkage to Bergmann. Just did first test drive so still testing/refining but looks good.
Jon,
Oh wow! In addition to outstanding performance, an engine should look classy. . . but yours looks fabulous.
Who built it for you. . . and where did you get the foot pedals?
One guys attempts at making a Bergman shroud work reasonably well
I hope you find the above link interesting reading. Al
This is the Germanlook forum thread referred to in the above link-

PS- the issues I see with the Porsche style fan and shroud-
the fan takes significantly more hp to run, so using it with a smaller engine is kind of pointless (not your situation, I know)
the temp differences from cylinder to cylinder and head to head mean faster wear for some
with no thermostat/flaps assembly the engine takes longer to warm up which also causes significantly more wear
Agate Grey: Engine is STUNNING to look at! Might I suggest a louvered rear decklid if more air is needed. Form(badass look) and function combined.
Al: All very good points. Someday soon, I'll know the exact temp differential between my cylinders. I installed the four thermocouples, but Carlisle is next week and I've put a hold on finishing that until after.
I do believe the difference is 12 hp for VW and 20 hp for the 911, so 8 hp which is not as big a deal as people think. The Bergmann is NOT a 911 shroud, it uses a Golf alternator and proprietary fan. No Porsche parts. So I would say hp consumption and cooling efficiency is a complete unknown as compared to the 911 fan.
had a bergman 2387 years ago, shroud got a front crack at 10 oclock, drilled hole to stop crack and put a castrol sticker over it...your shroud shows 2 bolts at 10 and 2, mine didnt have that so he must have improved the design, engine ran well.. hes just a bastard to deal with:}
I love mine!
I think on a daily driver there may be cause for concern, but for a weekend toy wear is not a big issue...

That's a long time. I didn't know they'd been in business that long. LOL
