I can give you a good opinion on the Beck manual.  I consider it the finest piece of literature ever created about automobiles, and that has nothing, NOTHING I SAY, to do with the fact that I wrote it.

It includes tips on some of the features, maintenance tips, warranty info, etc.  Be advised that it is focused on the most common configuration and all cars differ since these are pretty much custom-made.  Still, I think it would be worthwhile to have it, but I am a bit biased.

I,m not getting any help from the dealer I got the new car off in the UK and I,m a bit frustrated having to put right a few problems in the engine bay that they couldn,t fix properly ,just niggley things nothing serious which I didn,t exspect to have to do myself.I,m assuming a manual will cover beetle parts as a haynes does but what extra info is in there Lane.

cheers phil

It include such things as how to adjust ride height, how to adjust fanbelt tension, what oils are recommended, where to find the chassis numbers, etc.  Contact Carey Hines at Special Edition (the Beck folks) and see how much he'd charge you for a manual.  As an option, he might be able to send an electronic copy (PDF file format) to you if you promised not to distribute it, or I could do so with his permission.

You can also get advice on how to do that and more from the folks on this website.  We love convincing people that we know stuff.
