Hey All

Good news.  After walking away from that deal in California with the title issues, I closed on a deal for a nice Beck speedster with Cloud 9 Classics in Alpharetta, GA. Roy was awesome to work with.  Car will be delivered to our house tomorrow.  I bought it as a gift to my wife.  She is so excited.

How did I Do?

Now I have to figure out what to do for a front license plate mount.  I hated putting one on my vette and really do like the idea of putting one on the speedster. Any recommendation.

Bobby;

Great lookin car!    I agree with everyone else, just keep the front plate in the car, to present if ever stopped and questioned.  Some states do not require front plates and some do not require them if the manufacture made no place for  mounting. It's only a fix ticket anyhow.

But nice car, congrats!!

I'm in Ohio too.  Although Ohio requires front tags to be issued, there is question about whether they need to be installed.   The Ohio revised code section 4503.21 will take effect 1/1/2017, and at that time, it will be a minor misdemeanor to fail to display your front tag.

I'm not sure what I'll do then...  Maybe hang it from my passenger side sun visor?

BTW, Bobby, your new speedster is beautiful!   Please post some pics when it gets delivered.  Hopefully the weather will turn, and we can meet up at QS&L Friday evening.

Thanks and Go Green.  I am a Spartan in Buckeye country.  You guys should have a strong team this year.

Thanks for recommendation on the plate mount.  I will buy one and put it in the garage until forced to mount it.

I will take some pictures of my wife with the new car.  I work from home so I will be here for the delivery.  I bet my wife is having a hard time concentrating at work today.  Hope we will try to make it up to QS&L Friday.  What time do you think you would be there?

What about a horizontal 90 degree fold just above the numbers/letters and mounting it (through the top piece, which is now horizontal) to the bottom side of the bumper as far back as possible? It would meet the letter of the law in that it's there but be fairly unobtrusive, and you could fold below the numerals back at a 45' angle as well.

Al;

I am not familiar with my own state's rules on this, but I do know each state is different. I'd worry about  folding the plate as it might be seen as malicious compliance, and a signal to start looking the car over for other "issues" ?

I looked at if from the standpoint that on the front of the car the important thing is to be able to read the numbers/letters for identification purposes, and that can be done. I never thought of "malicious compliance". I do see your point, though.

Hey Troy

You have just scared the hell out of me.  I called BECK they said the car was sent as a kit to a dealer called Dukes Garage in Colorado.  I looked at their website and they do restorations.  Can't find any negative comments on the internet about them.  My father in law is a retire GM master mechanic.  I am sure he will find anything that is wrong with it and fix it.  He saw all the pictures.  I will keep my fingers crossed.  Thanks for the heads up.  Do you recall what the problems were?
